Financial support opportunities

If you are a student:

WDAA 2026 Student Conference Travel Grant Application

We understand that, as a student, expenses can quickly pile up, with the cost of living, conference fees, and HECs debts all adding pressure. But we believe these challenges shouldn’t stop you from experiencing this incredible opportunity.

To help ease the burden, the WDA-A Student Chapter is offering travel grants from $300 - $500 to support students with the cost of getting to the conference. We encourage you to apply by filling out the student travel grant application form (click here).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have an active WDA membership. 
  • Must be registered for the 2026 WDA-A Conference. Proof of registration (PDF, JPG, etc.) must be submitted below. 
  • Students who received a Student Travel Grant for the 2025 WDAA Conference are not eligible for this funding.

Amounts will vary depending on eligibility and demand. Applications close 11:59pm 16th of October and outcomes will be released by 19th of October.

WDAA 2026 Conference Financial Support


We are very excited to announce that we are able to provide some financial support for non-student WDAA members who would like to attend the annual conference at Kaikōura/Aotearoa (NZ) in December, but are not able to due to financial limitations.


If this describes you, please email wdaa@wildlifedisease.org with a short description of your situation, including evidence of financial limitation such as a Health Care Card (Australia) or Community Services Card (NZ) where applicable. Include a budget for your conference attendance (registration, transport, accommodation).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have an active WDA membership
  • Associate or Regular Member
  • Experience financial limitations

Amounts will vary depending on demand and eligibility. Applications close 11.59pm 6th of September. Outcomes will be released prior to abstract submission date.
